Pabian & Russell will advise you on how to choose an agent and how best to draft the durable power of attorney to ensure that your assets are properly managed in the event that you are unable to manage them yourself.

Durable Power of Attorney FAQ

Health Care Proxy

A health care proxy is also known as a medical power of attorney. This instrument will give your agent the authority to make health care decisions for you in the event you are unable to make these decisions for yourself.

Health Care Proxy FAQ

Living Will

A living will, also known as an advanced healthcare directive, is an important legal document that provides your loved ones with instructions regarding your medical wishes if you were to become gravely ill. A living will relieves your family of the burden of making difficult decisions about your medical care at the end of your life. While Massachusetts does not recognizing living wills, it can provide the agents designated in your health care proxy with evidence of your wishes.

HIPAA Authorizations

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 protects the privacy of your health information and makes it very difficult for anyone other than you to access your medical information. A HIPPAA Authorization will allow your designated agents access to your medical records.
